Cheshire Academy’s Roxbury Center Named to Top 15 NAIS Global Innovations

The National Association of Independent Schools report includes programs in Luxembourg, the U.A.E., Canada, Mexico, and the U.K.

Cheshire Academy’s forward-thinking Roxbury Center for Learning & Leadership is one of the top 15 international success stories in the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) “2026-27 NAIS Education Innovations Around the World.” Roxbury joins eight programs from across the United States, one of only two in New England.

“The stories…highlight educators and school communities that are willing to explore new approaches, learn from experience, and translate ambitious goals into action,” said NAIS President Debra Wilson. “Here you will find examples of programs and initiatives that offer inspiring answers to… crucial questions, demonstrating what is possible when vision, purpose, and innovation come together in practice.”

The Roxbury Center for Learning & Leadership (RCLL), recently expanded to align with students’ unique pathways to personal goals, transcends traditional academic support and offers a neuroscience-driven program for every student, according to the report.

“Students match strengths and goals with the strategies and support that help them reach their fullest potential,” the profile states.

The report traces Roxbury’s history and use of cutting-edge Mind, Brain, and Education research (MBE), and its evolution into five pathways that help students pursue rigorous academics, balance athletics and activities pursuits, bolster leadership skills, and more.

The story includes quotes from Cheshire students and alumni who explain how Roxbury helped them meet their goals.
