The fencing program at Cheshire Academy has a strong mix of college-bound fencers and those who want to try a new sport. The Cats offer all three fencing disciplines: epee, foil, and sabre. They compete in the Connecticut High School Fencing Association, which features many public high schools around the state. Cheshire Academy also has fencers who compete in the state tournament. The Cats host home meets in their fencing room at Hurley Hall.

Trying something new is encouraged at Cheshire Academy. Some students try fencing and have grown to love it. The Cats’ more competitive fencers have earned medals at the state championships and competed at the Junior Olympics.
