COMMENCEMENT
Cheshire Academy’s 230th Commencement will take place on Saturday, June 1, at 9 a.m. on Slaughter Field.
The ceremony will include the commencement address from a special guest, speeches given by the Class of 2024 Salutatorian and Valedictorian, the awarding of major honors prizes, and the awarding of diplomas. Afterwards, the students process out of the tent and onto the field to celebrate with the faculty and have family photos taken. There will also be a brunch following the ceremony.

Commencement FAQ
We will have personnel directing traffic to park on the field next to Arthur Sheriff Field House. The entrance of Route 68 will be blocked off. Please use the entrance off of Route 10 as the main entry point to campus. Additional parking will be directed to the Town Hall.
Students should wear a dress shirt/blouse with dress pants or skirt; students may also wear a dress. Students may choose to wear a tie with a dress shirt. Dress shoes or sandals that they can easily walk in are recommended.
Students will pick up their graduation cap and gowns from the academic office. Graduation gowns should be ironed prior to the ceremony. For those boarding students without access to an iron, assistance will be provided. Students can decorate their graduation caps with appropriate words and pictures, avoiding any references to drugs/alcohol, inappropriate language, or any language that could be perceived as derogatory. Faculty assisting with the commencement ceremony will review all caps to be sure that they are appropriate for an academic ceremony at Cheshire Academy.
Seniors should arrive outside of the Event Room at Hurley Hall by 8:15 am. fully dressed in cap and gown, ready to be lined up for the procession.
Seniors must be packed and off campus by 2 p.m. on Saturday. Before leaving they must clear out and clean their rooms, turn in their keys, and get room and library clearance. Students who fail to do so will be charged a fee.
The ceremony will be recorded and posted to the website on a later date.
Yes, families can attend the Academic Awards ceremony on Friday, May 31, at 10:30 a.m. The ceremony will take place under the commencement tent. Families will receive notification via e-mail if their child is receiving an award.
