Melissa T. Terrio, M.Ed., joined Cheshire Academy as the inaugural Dean of Enrollment Management, bringing more than 25 years of leadership in enrollment, admissions, and marketing to the role. Most recently Executive Director of Graduate Studies at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), she oversaw a team of 30+ staff across admissions, marketing, recruiting, and student success. Her career spans distinguished institutions including Georgetown University, Tufts University’s Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Simmons College, and HEC Paris MBA, where she lived and worked in France. A Cushing Academy alumna, Melissa understands the boarding school experience firsthand, and her extensive international recruitment work across 40+ countries — along with her experience as a Designated School Official (DSO) for SEVIS — uniquely positions her to serve Cheshire Academy’s globally minded community. She holds a Master of Education in Higher Education Administration from Northeastern University, where she is also pursuing her doctorate, and a Bachelor of Arts in American History from Boston University.
