Skills and Strategies Learned Offered a Leg up in College and Beyond
Parents and friends this month got a look at how well Cheshire’s signature Roxbury Academic Support Program prepares students for their future during a special alumni panel discussion now available on video.
The best-attended event so far in the series celebrating Roxbury’s 25th anniversary, the panel features authentic reflections illuminating how Roxbury participation creates a lasting impact in college and beyond.
Panel participants for the evening were: Jasmine Chen ’11, mortgage advisor;
Jake Lamar ’12, Medicaid data analyst, Rhode Island Executive Office of Health & Human Services; and Jonathan Friedman ’17, psychotherapist, Park Psychological Services. Hosted by Roxbury Director Julie Kile and former Roxbury Director Elisa Laudati ’05, a consultant for the State Education Resource Center, this panel was a chance to be inspired and learn more about the Cheshire difference.
“Tonight’s panel was wonderful!” Kile said after the event. “Our panelists did an amazing job highlighting all the things that make our Roxbury program special. It was authentic and a joy to hear how the work we do in Roxbury has a lasting impact in college and life.”
