Cheshire Academy Announces 2026 Online Summer Program for Students Entering Grades 7-12

CHESHIRE, CT – Cheshire Academy is pleased to announce Summer at Cheshire Academy 2026, a six-week online learning experience designed to help students get ahead, stay sharp, and prepare for academic success. Running from July 13 through August 14, 2026, this program offers live, engaging courses via Zoom – bringing the excellence of a Cheshire Academy education directly to students wherever they are. 

Summer at Cheshire Academy welcomes students entering grades 7-12 and postgraduate year, including both current Cheshire Academy students and students from other schools. The program is specifically designed to serve middle school students preparing for the transition to high school as well as high school students looking to earn credit, explore new subjects, or strengthen foundational skills. 

“Summer doesn’t have to mean losing momentum,” says Nick Joaquin, Summer Session Administrator. “Our program keeps students engaged in meaningful learning while building connections with Cheshire Academy teachers and peers. Whether you’re looking to get a sense of what a private high school education is like, earn credit toward graduation, or explore a new passion, Summer at Cheshire Academy offers something valuable for every student.” 

BUILD SKILLS, EARN CREDIT, AND PREPARE FOR SUCCESS 

The program features two distinct tracks: 

High School Preparation Courses for rising 7th-9th graders include topics such as: 

  • High School Transition Skills – Learn about academic resources, study habits, technology platforms, and the life skills needed to thrive 
  • Leadership Development – Identify your leadership style and apply skills through a real-world project 
  • Financial Literacy – Master budgeting, investing, debt management, and financial planning 
  • Brain Science and Learning – Discover how the adolescent brain works and develop effective study strategies 


For-Credit Courses
for all levels offer 0.5 Cheshire Academy credits and include: 

  • English Language Learning (ELL) 
  • Macroeconomics 
  • Behavioral Economics 
  • History Through Fiction and Film 
  • Art History 
  • Integrated Mathematics 
  • Particle Physics 


Students in all courses will benefit from: 

  • Live, interactive instruction with experienced Cheshire Academy faculty 
  • Small group collaboration and class discussions 
  • Individualized feedback and optional extra help sessions 
  • Progress reports and individual conferences at the midpoint 
  • Accommodations integrated through learning plans 
  • Creation of portfolios and original work to showcase summer accomplishments 

IMPORTANT DEADLINES AND PRICING 

Students and families are encouraged to act quickly to take advantage of early bird pricing: 

  • October 15, 2025 – Inquiry period opens 
  • January 5, 2026 – Registration opens 
  • February 28, 2026 – Early bird registration deadline ($2,700) 
  • June 1, 2026 – Final registration deadline (standard rate: $3,000) 

By registering before February 28, families save $300 per student. 

ACCESSIBLE, FLEXIBLE, AND SUPPORTIVE 

Summer at Cheshire Academy is designed with student success in mind. All courses are delivered via Zoom, allowing students to learn from home while maintaining meaningful connections with teachers and peers. Content is available 24/7 through the MyCheshire Portal learning management system, and students can expect 2-3 hours of work per week outside of live class time for academic courses. 

“Student choice and voice are emphasized throughout our summer courses,” added Joaquin. “Our goal is for students to enjoy the experience of learning together while producing lasting work that demonstrates their accomplishments.”
