Sophomore is youngest Ithaca College student ever to cover the Big Game from the official Super Bowl Media Center and Radio Row
Molly Golden ’24 is headed to California to report on Super Bowl LX for Ithaca College, where she is a sophomore. Golden, who started the popular “Molly’s Minute” Instagram series while at Cheshire Academy, is the youngest-ever student to be chosen to cover the championship game for Ithaca.
“A huge thank you to Rhys E.S. Finch, MBA, Chris Fickes and the entire selection committee for this opportunity!” she shared on LinkedIn. “I am so honored to represent Roy H. Park School of Communications at Ithaca College and for them trusting me to be part of the talent crew to pump out content! I am beyond grateful!”
Golden will cover the game and Radio Row for WICB 91.7 FM (online or on the iHeart Radio app) and Ithaca College Television with a student team from the school.
Golden, a 2023 Hawke-Petit Scholar Award recipient at Cheshire Academy, has wanted to be a TV sports reporter since she was a young girl. Realizing she’d need to build a portfolio to get noticed by colleges, she sought CA faculty guidance to create “Molly’s Minute,” in which she covered CA sports on Instagram.
“I wanted to give fans and supporters a way to see updates from games live and in action and create a platform for myself to start finding my voice in sports,” Golden says. “I was able to work with several coaches and athletics staff members to bring my vision to life and create a space where I could showcase sports at CA and report on games.”
Most notably, she published live, on-the-field coverage of the school’s 2023 Drew Gamere Bowl championship win––a trophy which the Cats took home again in 2025, securing two NEPSAC conference wins across three consecutive appearances.
Her media strategy worked and she was still choosing between acceptances at journalism powerhouses Ithaca and Syracuse University at Cheshire’s annual Celebrate the Yes event in 2024. “I can’t thank CA enough for letting me build my brand and being the first student to do something like this,” she said at the time. “These experiences have been the building blocks for the rest of my career.”
Now midway through college, with more experience in tow, Golden echoes her earlier sentiments. “Getting my start at CA on the sidelines at Simosa and the Field House let me fall in love with covering sports and gave me a platform to grow my abilities,” she says, adding that this experience built the foundation she needed to continue following her dreams at Ithaca College, “bringing me to amazing experiences, like Radio Row for the Super Bowl!”
