Varsity Girls’ Lacrosse
The Cheshire Academy girls’ lacrosse program is one to keep an eye on in the New England prep scene. The Cats have posted six straight winning seasons, including a run to its second straight Class B Invitational tournament berth last season. Alumni have gone on to play at all collegiate levels.
The Cats play a competitive schedule against teams such as Canterbury, The Gunnery and Ethel Walker with home games played at Simosa Field. The year also includes a preseason trip to Orlando, Florida in March to gear up for the season and enjoy some team bonding.
Under head coach Molly Purcell, who most recently coached at Earlham College (Ind.) and starred at Mount Holyoke College, the program has a college-style approach when it comes to strategy and fitness, while focusing on developing fundamental skills.
