Real-World Experience for Students

LeBlond shared her insights with FOX61 in a segment on an invitation-only event for CMOs and marketing leaders, “Off Record,” on the ever-changing digital landscape organized by Rebellion Group, a full-service digital marketing agency. FOX61 is an event sponsor.

“That’s the content people want to see,” LeBlond said of the videos, graphics and other marketing materials Cheshire Academy students help create. “That UGC, user-generated content, that authentic student experience.”

LeBlond and her team work with select students throughout the academic year to brainstorm ideas, write and create videos, contribute to social media and advancement campaigns, and more. The students gain valuable ‘real-world’ experience, build technical skills, and delve into potential career opportunities in the program.

Development Supporting a Strategic Plan

Professional development like the Off Record event also supports the Academy’s recently released Strategic Plan, which identifies attracting, growing, and retaining outstanding faculty and staff as a critical ingredient – bolstered by the school’s commitment to developing employee growth. The Academy’s Marketing & Communications Office takes an active role in achieving the Strategic Plan’s “non-negotiables,” one of which reads:

Cheshire Academy will distinguish itself as the school for a high-caliber, multi-faceted education where expert faculty guide students’ ownership of their personalized pathway to becoming purposeful citizens of the world.

LeBlond’s participation in collaborative think-sessions like Off Record directly impact her team’s efficacy in the department’s vision of reaching key audiences by telling Cheshire Academy’s story of transforming lives clearly and authentically.
