12 NEPSAC schools took part in the 20th annual event
More than 275 runners hit the trail Sept. 28 for the 20th annual O’Connell Invitational, Cheshire Academy’s signature cross country event.
Founded in 2003 by Greg O’Connell ’66, the race brought 11 other NEPSAC schools to campus, which was festively decorated and groomed to meet runners along main roadways and across the back fields. Every runner received a T-shirt and a medal, and O’Connell’s son Mark presented awards to the top 20 finishers.
Greg O’Connell has been a strong supporter of CA’s cross country program, generously providing new running shoes to every member of CA’s 2024 team. Many parents and members of the Advancement Office volunteered to make the day a success.
