Welcome Joe Long

Cheshire Academy is happy to welcome Henry “Joe” Long Jr. as its new chief advancement officer. Long will oversee all development operations, including major gifts, planned giving, annual giving, alumni and parent relations, advancement services, and constituent records.
With more than 25 years of experience in alumni and family relations, fundraising, team building, and securing major and planned gifts, he comes to Cheshire Academy from American International College (AIC), where he served as the interim vice president for institutional advancement. At AIC, he partnered with a dedicated staff to enhance philanthropic support, strengthen donor stewardship and communication, and engage alumni in the future of the college.
Prior to AIC, Long worked at UMass Amherst, his alma mater Springfield College, and Plymouth State University.
Long served as a member of the board of directors for the Council of Advancement and Support of Education, District I, from 2009 to 2016, and recently served on the African American Development Officers (AADO) network and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) Diverse Philanthropy and Leadership Conference committee.
