Andrei Popescu to lead girls’ soccer program
Andrei Popescu has joined the Cheshire Academy community as the school’s new head coach of the varsity girls’ soccer program.
Coach Popescu, founder and owner of sports consulting agency Lead2Rise, has more than 15 years of experience coaching children of all talent in the state of Connecticut on the sport of soccer. Popescu most recently served as head coach of Sporting Connecticut, where he led U11 and U14 girls’ soccer at the premier level. Previously, Popescu served as senior head coach of the Ginga Football Club, and senior soccer coach and camp director of the Everson Soccer Academy LLC.
“I am very excited to be a part of the Cheshire Academy girls’ soccer program, and to help our student-athletes become the best version of themselves both on and off the field,” Popescu said. “I can’t wait to get started and am looking forward to this new challenge.”
