Varsity boys’ basketball producing top-level recruits

November 11, 2020

Cheshire Academy’s varsity boys’ basketball team is receiving recognition for its growing roster of notable student-athletes led by head coach Jim McCarthy.

The new England Recruiting Report released its Be Seen Prep Profile on Cheshire Academy on Nov. 10, which highlights 10 recruitsTerence Crowley, Jack Cyr, Aidan Godfrey, Max JusianiecEthan OkwuosaJoe Ostrowsky, Max Polk, Isaiah Riley, Stephen Snagg, and Cole Wissink.

The report recognizes McCarthy, who started at CA in 2018 after coaching at Northeastern, Towson, and Yale universities, among others. When he arrived, McCarthy faced a young, inexperienced roster after many players had graduated. Since his start, McCarthy has rebuilt the program back to developing D1 players and, in the 2019-2020 season, the Cats reached the NEPSAC Class AA tournament.

“Now, they’re one of the most well-coached and respected programs in Class AA with the prospects for all three levels of college basketball and the foundation to keep ascending in the years to come.”
