Chip Boyd has been a long time devoted teacher and Boys Varsity Tennis coach at Cheshire Academy. He came to the Academy in 1988 and has served the school in numerous ways in his time. Currently, he is a member of the English Department and also teaches Theory of Knowledge. Though he didn’t play tennis early on in his life, he has since dedicated himself to all aspects of the game in his post-college years. Chip has long studied the game, including the psychology and science behind it, and is a master level tennis instructor and a member of the USTA. Chip’s teams have played a very challenging schedule, including numerous Class A schools and they have been met with success. Chip lives on campus with his wife, Shelley and is proud to have seen both his stepdaughter Lauren ’97 and his son Lucian ’10 graduate from Cheshire Academy.
