Jason Palmieri ’23 was recently spotlighted in the Republican-American newspaper for his athletic prowess and being an integral member of the Cheshire Academy varsity football team.

Palmieri, described by varsity football head coach Dan Mehleisen as a “Swiss Army knife,” was named most valuable player during the 2021 football season for his all-purpose performance, racking up 70 to 80 plays per game last year.

Palmieri was also selected for the Northeast Prep Football Conference First-Team. Playing as a safety, Palmieri recorded 36 tackles, two fumble recoveries, a forced fumble, an interception, and a blocked kick. He also scored two touchdowns.
