Jeff Tallman ’64 returns to Cheshire Academy to display artwork
December 30, 2019
Cheshire Academy alumnus Jeffrey Tallman ’64 presented his works of art, including sculptures and paintings, before students, faculty, and staff at a reception held in the Kohn-Joseloff Gallery on Jan. 9.
Tallman, who worked professionally as a woodworker, told the audience that he began painting approximately 15 years ago.
Many of his paintings are portraits created from his imagination, but many recurring themes—such as reddened noses, longer necks, and misshapen bodies—are represented throughout his works. He receives inspiration from Italian painter Amedeo Modigliani and Swiss sculptor Alberto Giacometti.
Profits from any sold works are donated to charity, Tallman added.
Tallman’s works will be on display in the Gallery until March 5.
