Volunteer Opportunities

Alumni Leadership Association

Shared experiences that span geography and generation are among the unique characteristics of being a part of the larger Cheshire Academy family. Alumni can ensure a vibrant future for the school by encouraging volunteer engagement, event attendance, connections with students and faculty, and the development of meaningful relationships with one another. Members of the Alumni Leadership Association help to create, maintain and enhance relationships with alumni of all class years and build spirit and camaraderie among the Cheshire Academy community.

Become a Class Agent or Reunion Committee Member

Class agents and reunion committee members play a vital role in encouraging classmates to return to campus, attend regional events, and demonstrate their appreciation for the Academy by giving back financially. For more information about class-based volunteer opportunities contact barbara.vestergaard@cheshireacademy.org.

Job Shadow Program Host

The Cheshire Academy Job Shadow Program (JSP) offers rising seniors an opportunity to spend a day with a CA alumnus or alumna in a professional work setting, in an industry and field of interest to the student. The Shadow Day provides a valuable “real world” career exploration and a chance for alumni to get to know the Academy today through the lens of a rising senior. For information on becoming a one-time or ongoing host, contact leonardo.hiertz@cheshireacademy.org.

Cheshire Academy Parents Association

CAPA – Cheshire Academy Parents Association (formerly PRIDE) meets 6-8 times per year and provides a vital link between parents and the Academy. CAPA members assist with important Admission events such as Open House, Revisit Days, Parent Panels and the newly created Parent Ambassador Program, which assigns a CAPA volunteer to connect with and mentor each new family; Community Life events including the New Student BBQ, Family Weekend, and Student Picture Days; as well as Advancement initiatives such as Phonathons and peer-to-peer fundraising, Winter Reception, and Homecoming. The Association also hosts an annual Faculty and Staff Appreciation event and provides financial support for the prom.

CAPA’s largest event of the year is the annual spring auction, which allows them to support the community building initiatives above, among many other things. For information on becoming involved, contact barbara.vestergaard@cheshireacademy.org.
