November 1, 2019
Cody Keith ’11, Cheshire Academy’s former record-setting quarterback, was inducted into the school’s Kevin Slaughter Memorial Athletic Hall of Fame on Oct. 18.
Keith (Charlotte, N.C.), set six Connecticut passing records in throwing for 3,840 yards and 39 touchdowns during a postgraduate year with the Cats in 2010. He earned National High School Prep Player of the Year honors. He also led the Cats to an 8-1 record and a New England prep school title with a win over New Hampton in the Dan Rorke Bowl.
“It’s truly an honor to come back,” said Keith, during his induction ceremony at Simosa Field. “This is a place I love being a part of and love seeing everyone.”
Keith, a four-star recruit at Cheshire Academy, went on to play at East Carolina. He drew interest from the NFL’s Washington Redskins and Baltimore Ravens before playing in the Canadian Football League.
