Varsity Girls’ Basketball
Cheshire Academy is a team on the rise in New England. The Cats reached their first New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) Class B tournament in school history and won the inaugural New England Girls Basketball League title in 2017-18.
The Cats play a competitive 20-plus game schedule with home games played at Arthur Sheriff Field House. Student-athletes have gone on to play at Virginia Tech, and Franklin Pierce, professionally, and in the Olympics.
Head coach Morgan Manz is a graduate of Quinnipiac University, where she received a Bachelor of Health Science Studies degree, with a minor in psychology. She later received a Master of Science in Education from the University of Pennsylvania. Manz attended Pomperaug High School for two years before transferring to Taft. She played basketball during her entire high school career and brought her talents to QU as a freshman in 2013. She graduated from QU in 2017. In her senior year, Manz helped Quinnipiac reach the Sweet 16.
