Alexis Holmes ’18 won the 400-meter run at the Southeastern Conference Track and Field Championships on Saturday at College Station, Texas.
Holmes, who is in her first year at Kentucky after transferring from Penn State, won the race with a time of 52.08. Her time is currently the third-fastest in the nation and second in school history.
“I definitely knew what the competition was going to be like so I just tried to put the best time forward that I could and I did,” said Holmes in a press release. “Just coming to practice every day with a positive mentality. Working hard, giving 110 percent – that’s really all it is.”
